MY truck has a noise from the front end at 15-16 mph.
I jacked the front end up and there is no play.
I looked in the knuckle and there is a plastic seal hanging freely around the stub axle shaft.
It seems the hub bearings are fine but, I'm guessing that the inner axle bearing in the hub unit is bad?
I reached in the knuckle and can move the axle shafts up/down and side-to-side.
What is the plastic seal hanging on the axle shaft?
Where can i get the parts to fix the problem?
Also where can i get the sway bar bushings to stop that problem too?
I have the piece of seal hanging on both my front axles too. Seems to be common and not really a problem unless you spend bunches of time in mud and water. I had a question on the seal this summer and several folks said they had the same thing.
I don't know about the other stuff as I haven't had to cross that bridge yet.

This is not right.
I would be pulling the hub apart to see what's up.
Sounds like possibly the inner needle bearings are wrecked and it's slopping around in the hub.

That is a dust seal-mine was hanging as well-not a real big deal, but had it replaced when the ball joints were done.
Part#F81Z1S175HCA
Ed the FTE Parts Guy has them.
Just your Wheel hub seal/axle seals. Easy fix just remove the wheel hub. You should replace the 2 seals Wheel hub seal, outer axle wiper seal and wheel hub oring on the wheel hub. Also check your cv joints when your there sounds like the needle bearing mite have fallen out, and check your wheel hubs too.
I tore it apart and found the hub unit was bad not the inner bearings so, I replaced the hub unit and problem solved.
The hafest part was locating one without ordering one.
Pepboys-$280
Dealer-$570
So I got the pepboys unit and they had it in stock.
