This number ring a bell for anyone? It's the fastest my truck will allow me to go. No trailer, 1/2 tank of fuel, flat ground, 32 degrees outside. Please comment!!
Well, I was driving without a trailer and caught up in a pack of morons so I got going around 80, it came very quickly and easily, so I just decided to see what she'll do?
About the overspeed condition? Is ford going to slap my hand next time I go in for an oil change? What's the deal?
I have to say thanks to all of you clearing this up for me. I figured it was a speed limiter but dang, I can't get over how quickly and easily the truck got there.
i used to have a '91 BMW when I lived in the city (arghhh). It used to reach 120 pretty easily but nothing like that turbodiesel in our trucks.
The 250 really was quite stable at 90 and my wife was surprised to know that we were going that fast.
Just to let y'all know, I have not driven over 80 in probably 4 years and won't do it again anytime soon. These big trucks scare me when I think of what would happen to anybody on the wrong end of a collision.
Mine will hold you back in the seat until 115-120 then creep up to 128-135 depending on the road & wind.
Wow! It's been since college that I've broken 80 and I keep my truck at 75 or below. I did 110 in a Yugo once and 105 in an Accord, but I never even think about that in my truck. Then again, I am a 4 Low and Go off road guy these days so speed isn't on the priority list anymore.
I had a Subaru SVX Lsi that I took to 135 mph with Z rated tires. Like everyone, you get fast on the Interstates in situations, but we have E rated tires.
It would be interesting for someone to comment on the difference. No matter, 96.2 is fast on top of my FIVE TONS.
