I had a Subaru SVX Lsi that I took to 135 mph with Z rated tires. Like everyone, you get fast on the Interstates in situations, but we have E rated tires.
It would be interesting for someone to comment on the difference. No matter, 96.2 is fast on top of my FIVE TONS.
like others have said if you wanna go any faster get a tuner...I know its bad but i like testing the limits of everything...So Im not a good example...but if you get a tuner you will get to speed a little bit faster
My typical crusing speed is 85-90 MPH and I still get 11.5 to 12 mpg......not a big deal with me traveling at those speeds and the truck is stable as hell.
Just recently I was playing with my GPS and found that top speed I was traveling was 120! Still had some pedal left but decided to let off. I know I am crazy but it was fun. when I driving that fast Iwas on a two lane highway with no cars to be found so I let it loose. I did this in my '99 and wound not even think of doing it in my Ex!
There is a strap in modification for our trucks that gets you well over 160mph, and it goes in the bed. It's called a Suzuki GSXR 1000, you can pick up a nice used one for less than $6000.
WELL WHAT'S WRONG WITH MINE???? top's is OOOOOOOONLY 95.4.
not really. just got pissed off a couple of people one day and topped it out and told 'em "shut up, don't drive that fast cos it's stupid, and you'll never see me do that again." and you won't. not in that 4 1/2 ton beast. did 114 in a minivan once or twice. quite interesting experience.
on another note, i was almost surprised. wasn't sure what i should have expected but at that speed she was running ~2700 rpm. hmmm, anyhow.
Juneau, You have some enormous cookies to go 110 in a Yugu! I'm surprised all the body parts stayed intact after 55
It was my college roommate's. We were headed down a 3 mile straight stretch of road. It took about 2.5 miles to get there, but we did. Specs on the car: Tan Yugo, homemade full roof sun roof, 4 cylinder Fiat engine in lieu of standard 3 cylinder, and a homemade ram air (funnel w/ dryer hose). You haven't lived life until you've done 110mph in a Yugo. That used to be my motto. I may add that to my signature now that I'm reminiscing...

I cruise at 65-70 and get 18mpg. Are you diesel? Going 15mph slower is well worth the cost for me.
You have to add that to your sig. Those college days were great, sheer unresponsible, fun. Glad we all lived to tell about it. Especially a 110 mph yugo!
I once did between 100 and 110 in a 1974 Ford LTD from Kalamazoo (Western Michigan) to Jackson about (65 miles) following a Trans Am, down I-94. I remember those wild days as a freshman in college in 1986.

Those were the days
