Hello this forum is really big, I didn't know where the best place to post this is so if necessary please move to the appropriate forum.
I have a 97 e350 that when I pass 45mph will start jumping like it wants to engage OD or the converter isn't engaging. I have 300k miles on the engine and tranny but the engine is sound and the tranny was just fine until this.
My question is, how can I figure what is this exactly? I thought maybe I just need to replace the converter and keep everything else. How hard is it to rebuild this tranny (not sure if it is a e4od or r100?)
You could post this on the transmission page, there are a couple of experts there.
However as a starter check your brake light circuit. It almost sounds as if the computer is getting a signal that the brake is applied.
Is everything else working OK? Engine good and speedo reading OK? How long since last fluid and filter change?
