Well guys I think I may be in trouble. For grins and giggles I was showing one of my buddies how loud these motors can be without the airbreather, and when I took the breather off, I was met with a good bit of stream of smoke coming from the CDR hole. So then I opened the oil cap and there was smoke coming out of it too.
So crap, this is why I sold my F100 to get this truck, cuz it looked like a hoodstacked Cummins when I revved it up without the oil cap on it.
I know its not normal, but how bad of sign is this??
No, sadly Dave, until now I thought the CDR was disabled because there is a hose at the backside of my airbreather that has been disconnected, but I'll clean it Saturday now that I know I was way wrong.
Any tips on how to clean?? I've never done it before and don't be too hard on me, just a mere 6 months ago I never had once worked on a diesel.
It wasn't extremely bad blowby, I would rate it as a 5-6 out of 10, nothin was as bad as my F100, it had 340K on the original 300 I6 and could drink a quart of oil in a 100 miles, and I ran it down to 2 quarts in whole motor once because I didn't know my Dad had borrowed it for a 5 days and never put any oil in it. She still runs strong tho
