Its been a long time so I thought I would give you an update on the big block engine project.
Just last week the block recieved a half fill of block cement to help make sure it holds together when I really get on it.
The SCAT 557 rotating assembly is sitting there, its a nice kit that comes balanced with dampener and flywheel. With the dished pistons and a small 72cc head it will be at a street happy 10.3:1.
I have decided on the heads I am going use, just can't afford them yet. They are a set of Kaase P-51 aluminum heads $2300US, they should make 700+hp very easy. I am also ordering they Victor style carb intake manifold drilled for fuel injectors from them as well. Going to use FRPP's newly released 80lbs injectors with a stock 5.0L harness and computer and a similar TweecerRT setup that I have on the 393. Then I'll have to take it to Wolf Performance in winnipeg for a custom tune.
Thats about it for the motor so far, if I have missed something ask away
Man, with 700 plus hp that`s going to be one fast ride!
Too bad Performance Plus isn`t able to do the custom tune, I`d sure like to see that!
It`s kind of sad cause with cement in the block there won`t be any more Bonanza style runs down 22d Street. Guess next time it`ll have to be in the 65 Mustang.

Ed at Wolf Performance is noticed as one of the best ford in all of Canada I want him to make the most of the car.
As far as cooling issues, with the big 04 cobra radiator and dual electric fans I am not concerned about over heating, if it does get warm, i'll figure out a way to cool it off, cause I am so gonna be cruising with this beast

Your right, might as well get the most out of that 460.
Good news that your still able to cruise the beast.....hint, hint!
Sorry, I can`t help you there. What does Jon Kaase have for cam shaft recommendations?
I see that in one of his articles in this winter`s Popular Hot Rodding Engine Masters Magazine he mentions filling a Ford 400 modified engine block with "'Hard Block" instead of cement.

Yeah I Was thinking of maybe getting the cam though them aswell they are great like a one stop shop
The block cement is The same as Hard Block, the stuff is cool it has the exact same heating characteristics as the iron block, expands and contracts exactlyt he same as if it was all iron Really neat chemistry at work there
That engine is gonna be insane if you stuff it in that convertible of yours!
I am keeping a close eye on what you all do also, I plan on building my 460 up in the future, although Im planning on sticking to around 400-500 horse.
