P.S.
the kind that sound like a truck,
not a train, boat turkey, The General Lee, or songs like the twinkle twinkle little star. And hopfully under $100. i found some that i like from J.C. Whitney but i want to know what they sound like. well thanks again
Hadley makes "real" airhorns. Compressor, air storage tank etc. They have a few kits, one that I am actually looking at is their underhood airhorn kit. It's pricey though about $325 bucks. You can do a search on the web and you'll be able to find a place that sells'em.
Air horns on a regular truck? I love it. What an awsome idea i'm looking for air horns now too the ones with the chain that you can pull down, what a great idea.

You might want to check this out the horns, compressor, and relay for ~18 bucks plus s&h.
I dont have the paperwork in front of me now, But i had 2 (120) Decibel air horns installed on my 01 Xped. Its a full independent system (loud as all hell!!) They disconnect your existing horn, and run it right from there. Im not sure if "Hadley" is the manufacturer, but it sounds familiar. My main reasoning for adding the Horns was well EGO for one, but I wanted the Alarm to have a little Extra Boom. My horns got mounted behind my grill and are facing towards the ground(Protected from snow and debri). When i get a chance to get back home ill pull out the specs, and repost for ya.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Jan-02 AT 00:59 AM (EST)]the site listed above doesn't sell real air horns. I bought some of those. If you are looking to buy real ones you're looking at a few hundred $$. I found some in a magazine for 40 and thought what the heck...they looked exactly like the ones in that picture. Worse than my horn now. Ended up putting them on my four-wheeler.
Yeah, if i remember right, i paid somewhere around 400-500 for my horns(this included installation). The top end Hadley Horn system was like 800 bucks. Believe me the Midrange one is intense. I call it my "Road Rage" Device. Living in the Philadelphia Area, im all too familiar with my horn...and its worth the look on these people faces when that things blaring right behind them!!
I'd really appreciate if you could post or email (john.morello@gecapital.com) me the pics of your installation. I am still waiting for my horns to be shipped. The 4x4 place near me wanted $900 for the horns/install. I found the horns (I think they are the one's I wanted) on the web for $320 (my place said $500), and I'll do the install myself. I ordered the Hadley underhood air horns, which look like the Hadley Bully kit without the Chrome horns that mount on the roof. I may just call Hadley and find out if they are the same kit just black vs. chrome. I think I should have enough room to mount the compressor, storage tank and horns, I scouted some locations this past weekend while installing my fogs onto my pushbar...I'll have a better feel for it when my package arrives (depending on how cold it is I may not get around to installing for a while).
