So you're getting readings even after you hit the accelerator pedal? Mine won't do that. It will only take the readings at idle. The readings at idle are the only ones you need to pay attention to.

I think you're typing to fast Adam. 1278 & 1278 are the same code.

Are you having problems with your van, or just learning to play with the new scanner? If the other code is 1273 and you've got the new gray CPS installed in your van, the codes might just be from the CPS. If that's the case, and everything else runs fine, I'd ignore the problem.

If you are chasing down a problem, the next step would be to ohm those 2 injectors from the connector on the valve cover and see if you get a reading below 5 ohms. 1271 is cylinder #1 and 1278 is the #8 cylinder. The codes and cylinder numbers are in order, so whatever the last digit is, that's what cylinder to look at. Drivers side has cylinders 2, 4, 6 & 8. Passenger side is 1, 3, 5 & 7.

Have you ohmed the injectors yet? Disconnect the plug on the valve cover and place on lead on a good ground and check the forward 2 pins and rear 2 pins against the ground looking for a reading lower than 2 ohms. Then place one lead on the center pin and check it against the 3rd, 4th, 6th, & 7th pins looking for a reading below 5 ohms. This is sounding more like a loose connector under the valve cover than bad injectors or a shorted wire.

That or just pull the drivers valve cover and look at the connector inside. See if it looks loose like this

I can only imagine how difficult it will be to pull the valve cover out of a van, hopefully it's not too bad. If you take the valve cover off, write down what the numbers are on top of your injectors. Check at least 2 of them since the back injector on the drivers side may have a different number. I'm not sure I'd put in a used injector from another truck unless it is all you can afford. I would think a rebuilt injector from one of our sponsors would be cheaper than a junkyard motor.

The AD number is the one to look at. If they both start with AD, then you should be able to swap the injectors.

0272 could mean a bad injector at #4. 0276 might be the same issue with a loose connector or wiring issue we just chased on the other van. Since both of these are on the same side (drivers) the harness might be suspect on this one too. If you run a cylinder contribution test, do any other codes show up? Does the #4 injector sound weaker if you run the injector buzz test?

I did the quarter trick on mine too. It's worked well for me.

Do you know how to change the injectors? Just make sure you get all the oil out of the cylinder before you start the truck back up.
