Looking for a new tool box for truck bed?

The title pretty much says it. The question is what kind? I don't want a side mounted one because of 5th wheel. I'm thinking of getting a diamond plated one. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I found some used ones on craig's list for around $100-$150. Just sold a vehicle so might do some mods. Not my daily driver so don't know how far I would go. I currently have a bull dog tuner and airraid cold air intake. Maybe an exhaust......That's about it...........

Those CL prices are good, if you can get a good one that way, I would do it. I was looking at CL before I got mine and either they didn't have keys or the guys would squirrel out on me and not want to sell at the last minute. I eventually got fed up and drove to Home Depot and bought a brand new black diamond plate Husky brand for about $269.00.

I sold my Durango on CL. Pain in the butt and it is a buyer's market. Caution to all be cautious about scams. Seems like a lot of people are trying to get your phone number or e-mail address. I had four different Jennifer's reply to my ad. What are the odds of that? 90% of the people responding were females. If I knew they liked them so much I would of got one when I was single. .......lol

I had one given to me, with no keys either. I bought 2 outdoor cabinet style locks from Lowes. A little bit of customizing on the locking tabs and she's good to go. IIRC both locks were under $15

I have a Delta flush mount (flush with the bed rails) diamond box on my truck and love it. I also haul a 5'ver and still can see out back to hitch it up.

Take a look, not real good pics of the box but you get the idea.

Your truck looks a lot nicer than mine..................All I really use my truck for is going to the lake and camping. Occasionally hauling small stuff around home. I store my boat and camper at the lake so hopefully I can get 300k out of the tranny. Thanks for the inputs.........

Thanks for the compliment, Those are old pictures but the box still looks brand new even after three years. I think I spent $100 on it from Costco of all places. Unfortunately, I've never seen them there since when I bought it. It has still space under it so I can still slide lumber and utilize the full 8' of bed length. I even stow luggage in it when we take it on road trips and the cab is full of family.

My truck is regulated to camping and home improvement fetching duties as well. I drive it once or so a week to give my POS beater commuter Honda a breather.

Chris, that ain't 'flush' with the bed rails. Maybe somewhat low profile, but not flush.

I've got the deep Weatherguard in mine powdercoated black diamond plate, it was pricey, but man I love it. But I do use mine for alot more than a storage area for the water meth tank.

Nope 100% Thick Steel...

Or you can get a diamond plat aluminum one like this

I prefer steel or Aluminum when it comes to putting heavy tools and stuff in there

I bought a 'Husky' brand from Home Depot. A nice box, but getting some extra keys has been a major pain in the ***. One of my employees lost one of the two keys within an hour of giving it to him and now I have only one left. Two different Professional locksmiths couldn't help me. Home Depot stores can't make them either. You can call them with a serial # from the receipt and they will send you some. Don't know the price yet...my receipt is already in storage in the 2008 paperwork. But when shopping for these, consider the key situation.
