Kelly-Springfield belts are sold at Auto Zone for about 1/3 the price of their BF Goodrich belts. (Kelly-Springfield is owned by BFG). There appears to be a visual diffence in quality between the two, but is BFG really that much better than Kelly-Springfield? Has anyone had any negative experience with these cheaper belts?
I know you didn't ask, and this doesn't answer your question, but I've always used Gates on everything and love them. They're harder to find, and not necessarily the cheapest, but well worth it in my opinion. Belts and hoses are a couple of items that I'd rather change at my convenience (not during a breakdown), and the peace of mind has got to be worth something.
Ditto on the gates stuff. acceptible 2 nd choice CAR QUEST
carqest brand butt open to find Gates logo on parts.
For a quality part the car quest label has treated me very well except their liftime brake pads. made to last and grip but I like feel of their secd level.
caddy 53
I bought some cheap brand from canadian tire and put the ps/waterpump belt on 15 times on a 30 mile trip. Went back and bought gates, only had to put it on once!
