Sway Bar Check....
Sway Bar Check....
we'll just a question how do i got about checking to see if the sway bar bushing are bad?? i have to slight clunk when i hit a bump and was just wondering how to check the sway bar?? like lift the truck up and try it?? cause i tried it with the truck on the ground and there is no place what so ever..i didnt know what the best method of checking was???
Take the end links off the swaybar and tie the swaybar up to something under the truck. Take the bolts off and remove the end links. No jacking requried. Take the truck for a drive and see if the clunking is still there.
Good Luck!
If you find what it is let me know. I replaced my shocks twice, had the front springs rebuilt, replaced all the bushings around the front including sway bar and still have a big *** clunk louder than ever. I just gave up on it. I drove around 8400 miles with a fifth wheel last summer and seven thousand more since and nothing weird has happened yet but I remain curious...and annoyed.
I bought the whole kit from energy suspension, but have only replace the two lower bushings on the bar. Haven't done the end links yet, but rattle is gone. This guy did a great job with this link.
