it says rare (RARE 7' BED) it looks like a short box? isn't it?
also are we allowed to post nice trucks for sale on here? or what? i have seen quite a few nice trucks all thousands of miles away from me, but close enough for other members, we really need a look what i found sticky and people can just post nice dentsides for sale in there, i know we have a area for selling stuff, but a sticky thread would be neat!
I believe that it is "not-good" to post for-sale ads in the forum,if you are the seller, now I think you can post the ad if you are just linking to it,but don't take my word for it...
Also,I don't think Ford would make a 7-Foot bed just for one truck....
Usually, the trucks they buy are plain jane stripper XL's with vinyl interiors, without any side trim or accessories at all.
The 7 foot bed is rare all right, because there is NOSUCHTHING.
No 7 foot bed was ever installed on a Regular, Super or Crew Cab.
The seller thinks it's a rare 7 foot bed, but the fact of the matter is, he's measuring the length of the SHORT BED'S quarter panels to arrive at that figure.
I'd like to see the DSO code, cuz if it was a Gov't purchase, the first two of the 6 digits will be 83.
Just another truck that makes me wish I lived out west. Then again if I lived out west I imagine my neighbors would be complaining about my yard being full of great old Ford trucks.

You said exactly what I was thinking but I'm no expert so I didn't want to bring it up. The gov't does some strange things, but specing an oddball bed with no special purpose is over the top. I figured it was wrong and I'm glad to hear it from an authority.
nice truck. and yes 76SCS is right, posting classifieds in the forums is wrong.
Sorry, my bad. I saw a cool truck and figured I'd share and get some reaction on the "rare 7' Forest Service only bed. Sure is some funky info floating around out there.
Lesson learned.
hey guys if you remember a little while ago the gmc/ford mutant was posted on this forum and nobody ever said anything, even though that truck was kinda intresting,,he is just bringing this truck to our attention.same goes for the freewheeling add that was posted on here the orangejuice bought

Don't sweat it man. I'm glad you brought it up - cool rig...
Yep! It's just up the road from you also, I have been looking for a CC, but I need to sell a couple first, and it seems no one is buying.
It is actually from Oregon, somewhere around the Portland/ Salem area, by the phone #.
Doesn't look too bad from the pictures, but it is priced a couple grand high.
Even for up this way.
