Yours wasn't the 1st moronic comment about an "other brand" driver (or even a 2nd car) from this board...
That crap just rubs me the wrong way
I research my purchases and have enough brains not to get "burned"...
Aside from that - it's buyer beware.
Also, I'd love to see how having an advertised a 7' bed on a crew that turns out to be a 6' bed would really "burn" someone
He might have been just asking, and maybe I read it wrong. I just don't agree with the "this guy listed his ford truck wrong, lets string him up" mentality that I see on this board. People get their panties in a bunch if a seller lists a truck wrong. I was pointing out that MOST people don't know the trucks as well as people here and make mistakes in listings. Many people on this board think it is their duty to call out these sellers, in an often no so polite way. Again - just a pet peeve of mine.
Actually I could care less what size he calls his box , and when I said "call him on it" I was more intrested in his story than his mistake.
Id like to know if he cant read a tape measure or if someone told him wrong.
He mentioned it being a forestry truck so Id guess someone told him a story?
Id like to hear it?
And if it was a honest mistake some people would be happy to have it pointed out.
I didnt see anyone lynching him about it?
I didnt call him by the way Chasetruck i was only jerking your chain.
But i might call him as Im nosey.

As Number said - he probably measured the outside of the bed. If I remember right this measurement is 6'-9" on my 74 crew.

Lynching - not in this particular case. In past cases on this forum - yep...
Pointing out a mistake in the add in a pleasant way while asking about the overall truck is cool, and I would like to be corrected in this way as well. I have just seen guys in the past going on about how the seller is a moron claiming his truck was a 79, while it obviously had the 73-77 round headlights, blah, blah blah. These people email sellers and lay into them about crap like that too. Telling a seller he is wrong in this way doesn't seem right to me.
As for calling the seller of this truck - you can call him if you wish (obviously), and I won't care as it is your time/life/decision and whether you do or don't won't affect me in any way, shape or form. If the truck was $3k less then I might have even called, but he is asking too much for me to put any thought into it. Heck - I have already wasted more time than I should on this truck by replying to this thread

i dont agree with that mentality either,,and yes most people dont know these trucks as well as most of the people on here do,,i dont really like calling sellers out on things either unless they are a$^ backwards,,cya around the forums
Sorry, my bad. I saw a cool truck and figured I'd share and get some reaction on the "rare 7' Forest Service only bed. Sure is some funky info floating around out there.
Lesson learned.
Does that truck belong to you?
AFAIK, it's not breaking a rule posting this thread. This is only a heads-up thread (getting people to look at a nice deal), assuming it doesn't belong to a poster from this forum.
Chase is right it's not mt truck. Honestly I didn't even think about the rules at the time because I've seen other similar posts so it didn't occur to me the it might be against the rules, I'm not much of a computer guy. As far as reaction on the bed goes, I wasn't trying to start a fire like I did. I thought maybe it was legit. I know after reading it I took a second look at the pics and thought, "Wow that does look different." Apparently not, and I learned that there was no special forest service bed. That's all I was trying to acomplish, sorry if there are hurt feelings as a result.
