Z-Bar

Are Z-bars still available for 66 F-250's?
Will I just have to rebuild mine?

NPD has the z-bars, not sure if f250 is any different than f100.

I'm assuming this is a 2WD.

The two: nylon bushings, felt washers and snap rings are still available from Ford.

These parts have always been sold separately, so if you bought a new equalizer (Z) bar (now obsolete), you still had to buy these parts.

2) C1AA7543A .. Nylon Bushing / MSRP each: $3.75 // FTEpartsguy.com price each: $2.70.

2) 358979S .. Felt Washer / MSRP each: $1.60 // FTEpartsguy.com price each: $0.96.

2) 97474S .. Snap Ring / MSRP each: $1.80 // FTEpartsguy.com price each: $1.08.

It's a good idea to replace the two clutch rod nylon bushings at the same time..still available from Ford.

These bushings fit on the 90 degree ends of the rod that runs from the clutch pedal to the equalizer bar.

What happens: The bushings wear, fall apart, then the two 90 degree ends begin to crack, then snap off.

Not pleasant, and when that rod snaps, you aren't going anywhere...and the rod is a very hard to find part..new or used.

2) COAZ7526B .. Nylon Bushing-Clutch Pedal to Equalizer Bar Rod

MSRP each: $2.05 // FTEpartsguy.com price each: $1.48.
--------------------------------------------------------
The equalizer (Z) bars (there are TWO different 2WD types), have been obsolete since grandma was a girl.

C5TZ7528A .. Equalizer Bar / Obsolete

Fits: 1965 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100/250 2WD before serial number 830,001.

DENNIS CARPENTER OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has ONE: 704-786-8139.

No Ford Dealer or other obsolete parts vendor has any.

C6TZ7528G .. Equalizer Bar / Obsolete

Fits: 1966 F100/250 2WD after serial number 830,001.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
-----------------------------------------------
The two clutch pivots, one mounted on the frame, the other on the engine (bell housing-V8) do not come with the equalizer bar...sold separate.
