Has anyone used the lokar floor shifter with an AOD behind a 351w.(56 f100) Just wondering if there is any modification necessary to make the connection to the trans? Or will the linkage hook up to the stock configuration. Any advice appreciated.
I'm using Nostalgia shifter, bolts to tranny, mine is AOD, behind 302. I had to put 1 1/4" offset in shifter linkage to clear the throttle linkage. I have clearance between dash and seat, no problem. I'll have to fab up trans inspection cover , to clear transmission. I probably have pics somewhere if required.
Here is a view of the shifter linkage offset to clear throttle position linkage; I'm going to fine tune this with slightly less offset as it is currently 1/2" or so too far from tranny.
I modified the stock throttle linkage on tranny as well, to clear the shifter linkage. The linkage is pointed up; not positioned 180 degrees downward, as some have suggested, in order to clear shifter. I originally planned on using T-bird shifter and cable linkage.
