F-350 dlesel automatic

My husband is getting into a habit of turnning off the ignition while in drive. Then he puts it into park after it is turned off. Does this hurt the truck to do this?

I don't think it hurts. Well, I sure hope it doesn't. I do it a lot. It saves about 3 tablespoons full of fuel. Over a year that adds up to about a cup and a half.

OK, I was being facetious. I can't really say why I started doing that. When I drop my son of at preschool now, he begs me to do it every time. That is the only reason I keep doing it.

Obviously, I make sure I am going in a straight line (more or less), and make sure that I only have to brake once as that is all the power brake reservoir allows before making it really tough on you!
