I'm confused

Just replaced waterpump on my 99 F350. The thermostat is still leaking. Replaced thermo & seal. About 3 months ago replaced upper housing. Why won't it seal, should I replace the upper housing again & get new bolts?

dono, but if all else fails I would try some High temp RTV sealer, that would be alot cheaper than replacing the manifold. That is strange.

Was the thermostat leaking BEFORE you replaced the water pump? Also, what engine do you have in the truck?

Unhappy Leaking

Don't know. You never filled out your profile, and we don't know what engine is in your truck. Do everyone a favor, and FILL OUT YOUR PROFILE !!!

Opps. It has the 7.3 psd. Don't think thermo was leaking before new pump.

The new upper housing you put on isn't any good. Sounds like it isn't sealing.

I would try a new one.

Here, get the billet housing and scroll down for the 203* thermostat.
That stamped crap doesn't last more than one time on.

Do not use high temp sealant if you have an oil cooler on the side of the engine. Trust me - I had to pull threads of it out of the oil cooler. From what i know of these engines, none of the surfaces should require a RTV to seal.
