Having problems with the search function. Was wondering if you guys could help me diagnose a vibration/shudder problem. The truck seems to shudder pretty bad at highway speeds. It is noticeable at 60mph plus and gets worse at 65mph plus. Other than the magnitude of the vibration/shudder being more pronounced, it does not seem totally dependent on speed. It comes and goes at a pretty regular cycle. It is not coming through the steering wheel but seems to be coming from the body itself. I havent driven on the highway much so today was the first time I noticed it. Other than that it seems to run and shift fine (slight lag in shifting drive to reverse only, forward shifts are firm). I have replaced the fwd hubs and needle bearings this year. Truck is a 2000 F250 SD XLT V-10 super cab, short bed with 141k miles on it. Any help pointing me in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks guys.
this happened today not towing and unloaded. It does not seem to change with throttle or coast. Seems independent of anything other than road speed. The tires have a lot of miles on them, any possibility one of the belts started to shift? Would that lead to this type of vibration?
could be a tire tread seperating from the carcuss look for a long bulge or raise in tread cap on the tires. most noticable in the center of the tread. might have to move truck ahead a few ft. after looking to check the bottom of the tires.
