Turbo hoses

Turbo hoses
While getting my CPS sensor recall done at the stealership today, the service advisor told me that the rubber hoses going in and out of my turbo were a little lose. (Forget the technical name for them, one of them goes to the exhaust downpipe)
He offered to take them off, clean them, and reseal them for the low low price of $100.
I asked him what they use to seal them with, and he wasn't sure.
Anybody have any idea what one should use to seal them with? If I truly am having a little bit of oil blow as he stated...I'll certainly take ten minutes to seal them back up.

Those are your boots on the intercooler plumbing. Take them off and clean them up if you want, or if they haven't been taken off, just tighten them back down. Remember they attach to soft pieces so don't over tighten them. The spec is 70 in-lbs.
I'm assuming with the CPS recall you've got a 7.3 motor. Be sure to check out the 7.3 diesel section further down the main forum listing. If you want to take them off and clean them, you can usually get them pretty clean with just a rag and maybe something like simple green that won't hurt the boots. A shot of hair spray on the inside of the boots will provide a tacky surface that will help to keep them from popping off after re-install. If you want to eliminate that oily residue, check out the CCV mod down in the 7.3 section.
