The TV video is very nice. It will take me a while to get comfortable with the equipment, but the signal is superb even on the SD sets.
Unfortunately they eFFed up my telephone, so this morning we have no dial tone on any phones. Still trying to get that fixed. It's obvious to me they screwed up the order and switched my voice over to the fiber. But the voice lines on my house are not connected to the fiber - they stayed on copper per my order.
I'm amazed that my DSL is still working over the same copper. I expect it to quit working at any moment when that department gets around to the work order.
Looks like nobody can help me until Monday.
They are dropping lots of subtle hints that all this problem would go away if I simply agreed to bundle video, internet, and voice. They cannot force that, because the FCC says they cannot, but they will make it as unpleasant as possible. I guess I'm just too stubborn to simply roll over like that.
The installer guy was really pretty good. Listened to me, did what I asked, and did good work. He (Vince) even gave me his cell phone number in case I had any questions after he left. His company is a private contractor (Aljion?), not Verizon. My phone problem is definitely not his fault.
I've got wires stapled to the outside of my house, and it's certainly not the way I would have done it, but it is neat enough.
He was out of regular HD set top boxes, so I got a second DVR at no added cost.
My blood pressure has eased since this morning. It wasn't the fact that there was a problem so much, that happens. It was their #$%*#%! customer service system. Took forever to get a warm bodied answer, and 5 times they handed me off to someone equally clueless.
