Your truck would not have come with an Express box on it, maybe a flatbed or some other type of commercial body.
I know of a '48 F-5 with a pickup box, it looks very nice, almost factory:
The guy who used to own the Fordbarn in Appleton, WI had a '53-56 dauly pick up, I don't have any pictures of that one, but it was a nice looking truck too.

1957/72 F350's were available with a nine foot Flareside "Express" bed.
the 'number dummey' tells me that there is such a thing as a 9 ft express flairside bed but still no more info I have some rough plans of the 8 ft express but it is missing some of the mesurments thought that may get someone to run a tape over their bed and fill in the blanks
distance from
1 top of chassie rails to top of front head wall ( i can minis floor&bracing )
2 height of side panel to first fold ( I prusume this is the same as front head wall ?)
3 width of top fold with rounded end (I will more than likley weld pipe rather than try to fold the rounded end)
4 width of panel from bottom of bed floor to stepside (looks like the front one may be wider than the back on not shore)
as I live in australia I am not as lucky as you guys cant just take the tape mesure to the shops with me so I hope some one has the time to help
bob where did you buddy find his wheels? How old are they. I have seen only one other set on a truck in a magazine.
I don't personally know this guy. I've seen his truck at a couple of shows and on the road. I met him just once and he told me he used the rear end out of an '70 International truck, which had the same bolt pattern as the old Fords. He also said he was able to swap Ford gears into the rear end because the internals are the same. As for the wheels, I think they were ALCOAs. They haven't been made in many years. He told me where he got them from a long time ago but I don't remember where.

Some one on the board should be able to get the measurements you're looking for but since what you're trying to is not stock I would think you could make up your measurements, just as long as the box comes out looking proportional and fairly close to stock in appearance. I am fairly certain you wouldn't be able to use a stock 9 foot box without doing some alterations to it. The F-5 I posted above had a custom box with straight sides with a simple bend at the top. The fenders are fiberglass that were widened with additional fiberglass.
About 4 years ago a fellow appeared at one of our local car shows with a COE truck with a long pickup box on it. The chassis was a stock Ford F5 ... I think the middle length one .... 134" ..... and the box looked virtually stock. I asked him about it.
He explained that he used a stock 1951 F3 pickup front box metal, a stock tailgate, and stock stake pockets. The fenders were stock but widened so duals could fit, and the sides were made up at a sheet metal shop once he knew how long he was leaving the frame. He drilled holes to fit the '51 fenders after locating the bed sides in place.
I don't have photos unfortunately, but the truck did look good, and in proportion. The trick of making the box sides as needed to fit the truck made considerable sense.
I've not seen the truck since, but remember it was from Canada. Not sure just where though.
sounds like the way to go the express width is 54 inches not 49 as standard but I think I will still have to cut the wheel arches through the side panels to fit the duels in I have a set of steel gards that I can hopefully make wider, with the length and the wheel arches I think I shood use 2-3mm steel to keep it all straight thanks for the help
I don't know if you have seen the images posted by John Niolan, here's a site that has regular, panel & express bed dimensions on it. Maybe this will help you in your search. I don't have an express bed & can't take measurements.
Will you be keeping the fenders centered over the rear wheels (basically moving them from 118 to 130")? I can work up a sketch of moving them back if you want.
He's building his own bed. It should be easy enough to do the same thing on a larger scale for your truck. You can buy the stake pockets and other pats, here's a decent source for them; https://www.mackhils.com/mack_produc...p?CategoryNo=3
