Its good to hear from you guys that you've been getting the same excellent quality that I expected. Ive seen alot of 04+ trucks pulling into the store and have heard the same from them as well; minor problems but overall an excellent truck. What is this OASIS report, Ive never heard of that before? Itll be a few months before I seriously look to buy, I want to have a good down payment(3-4000) so Ill save on the loan. Ive heard the plugs are a nightmare, but how is it to work on otherwise(I've always been a gear head since I was 10). I like doing my own work, I don't much care for someone else touching my baby haha! Thanks again guys!!
I have a 04 4x4 5.4L FX4 and have no complaints! Been a perfect truck. The engine is a bit noisy at idle (typical) but it has been like that since new, 70K now. Avg. about 15 mpg, only money spent has been tires at 45K and replaced the brake pads for the first time at 65K.
I pull my boat, snowmobiles..etc...been excellent.
Drove my '97 218K with no major problems, expect this one to do the same.
I love my '06 F-150 XLT 4x4 Supercab with 5.4 Liter V8. I purchased it used with only 19k miles on it, but could tell the previous owner didn't take good care of it. Had to touch up the paint in several spots and clean cat hair out of the carpet. Its been a really great truck though, has plenty of power and is now very reliable. The only issues I had was having the gauge cluster recalibrated, which was covered by warranty, had the rear brake pads and rotors replaced and I also changed the spark plugs at 30k miles. I get around 18 MPG on the highway and 15 MPG in the city. My brother-in-law has an '06 F-150 4x4 Supercrew that has the 5.4 Liter flex fuel motor and it too is a nice truck. He only gets around 14 MPG on the highway and 12 MPG in the city when running E85 ethenol.
