painted my truck during the warm spell we had here in ny. just a scuff and shoot but its a truck so the dings dont bother me there will be morein the future.
Looks good!
Pictures are great for new paint jobs, both cheap and expensive:
If its a higher end job, then the pictures dont do justice, but it still looks amazing...and if its a rattle can job, low quality internet pics hide the imperfections
I'm working on a flat/winch bed for mine, and when I get ready to put it on, I'm gonna paint my my cab forward white, and the bed is gonna be glossy black.
its just enamel tractor paint, got it at the local case ih dealer. farmall red, gloss black, and the silver that they had on the wheels. i sprayed it with 6 coats each. its about 50 bucks a gallon threw a tractor dealer. its pretty durable and looks pretty good. ive painted a few trucks with it. it lasts well but tends to fade, using more hardener helps shine longer. but it takes a while to fully dry, it will feel dry to the touch but is still soft for at least 2 days after ya spray it.
i like it too on this body style, i painted it a couple years ago when i first built it. heres more of a time line
the day i bought it in 2005 87f250 6.9 4speed
few month later
in 06 with f350 frame under it along with the zf also added 36s and a 3 in body lift
07 i rebuilt a 73 and added a hypermax turbo. also bought the plow
last summer 08 the cab floors were gettin thin and she was gettin rough bodywise so i swapped on a body from a 95 f150 , i kept the body lift but went to a 35 inch tire and diff rims
and as ya saw this is current with the winter tires on, other wise the plow angle is all wrong with the bigger tires
the flatbed needed a new floor but they are just not my thing, the visor i made its off a semi i just trimmed it to fit, ans cut out for the drip rails
