K read up on them but I have one question. It says it is for the 96 to 03's. Mine is a 95. Do i need the longer one? I'm confused, mines short and fat, that ones long and skinny, IDK if mine can fit a long one... wow are we still talkin about trucks?

Yep, still talking trucks!
That depends on whether the pump has been changed before. You need to remove the stat housing to know for sure. The long stat will not fit in a 95 pump.
If you need the short stat, Lucky you, the 203º stat for the short housing is available just about anywhere for $10 or less.

Well i changed the pump, I'm pretty sure my shorty seated in it but I can pull it apart and see. Man, last time was the only time I'd gotten it together without it leaking.
You will need to measure it, you can't really see/feel it unless you looked before the pump was installed. The short stat will install in the long stat housing OK but not the other way around. There is about 1/2 clearance from the bottom of the long stat to the seat in the housing when it's cold. I can check to be sure on the measurement.
I would get a new inlet housing (no leaks) and then take a look in there. I've seen a few PSD's that went for years with the wrong stat w/o engine damage so you should be OK for a week or two. Just did one yesterday....3 years on that one. Actually I did 2 water pumps...mine went bad too 2 coolant baths in one day! LOL!
Do they sell aluminum inlet housings? I know the parts store here does not. Mines rusting pretty bad and I would just prefer get one that wont rust. But good point, I'm not pullin it apart til I get the new housing.
Use the link that Rog gave you above, it's the only place I know of to get a billet housing. You can get the additives and anything else you might need too.
Rog, you're right, forgot about that. The short housing is for a 99 and up. He can get the long housing there too. I got my shorts and longs all mixed up between the stats and housings
Another way to tell the 94/95 short stem t'stat pumps from the 96/03 long stem t'stat pumps is by the threads on the 5/8 hose barb for the return line. The early pumps had tapered pipe threads and later ones used a straight thread o-ringed fitting.
did you ever look into which pump you bought? P/N?
Cannot finrd reciept for the pump. I'll call them when they open to see if they can look at my acct and tell me which one I bought.
My stat # is - 14252. It says Stant 205F. To me thats 205 degrees farenheit right? Maybe that is my culprit.
Ok, just researched the stats. My new one is a 205*, old one is a 203*. That is probably the cause of my temp gauge going up right? I'm scared to run this in Florida being as we get 100* summer days.
