I bought 8 of those Bosch plugs for mine when I put the 6.9 in my Bronco and all 8 were junk from the start. They never even heated up once, pulled them and they looked fine but still were dead. I bought 8 motorcrafts from local parts store (KOI) for $12 apiece and have never had any problems. The cheap plugs just aren't worth the hassle.
My rule with glow plugs is to always do a failure test if you decide to experiment with a a new brand. First make note of how long it will reliably glow for and then see how badly it deforms when it does fail.
I'm still thinking of the bosch duratherm dual coil glow plugs. Heard good things about them but none of the local parts stores seem to carry them.
What he means is that the glow plug wiring harness on an IDI comes across from the passenger side fender well to the motor and is on top of it along side the valve covers not under them.
