I'd almost bet that the tech hooked the scanner up, read a faulty WSS code, and that completed His diagnosis. He prolly never even looked at the offending WSS to see if the connex were tight/wet, ect.
Good point. But, then again, if the part is backordered for another week or two, they must be going through an awful lot of them....so it may be the part, too....
I doubt their seeing a lot of problems with them. We'd be hearing about it, here?
The backorder prolly has more to do with the Lean Manufacturing process, and the state of the economy (scared suppliers laying off production workers) than anything.
to crazy002 you obviously misread the post? i only complained they wanted to wait 4 days to put it on the computer and see what the problem is! when i went up there 4 mechanics were sitting up at the service advisors desk looking for things to do! and im glad i screAMED they got to order the part 4 days sooner (not that i did any good)!! backordered!
I wouldn't fret too much. My last truck, 02 GMC had a sensor go out in the transmission with 600 miles on it. Truck actually would not run and I was on a road trip from Nova Scotia to Boston!! Got it fixed the next day...it was the last time the truck was in the shop. I sold it last week. Sh_t happens. I pick up a Platinum tomorrow and can only hope it holds up as well as the GMC did...

I would say you got lucky. Screaming at people usually doesn't end in a positive response.
finally came in after three weeks, but i did have to drive through canada during a winter storm that dropped ice and snow without antilock brakes or traction conrol!
light usually comes on to test then goes off and only comes on when a problem is detected, but when it stays on the abs and the traction control probably does not work!
