Slap Shifter For 91 Ford 4x4 Anyone ever have a slap shifter?
what does it take to install one of these and it it cable or linkage because i have a 3 inch body lift and now it only goes forward in between the od and 2 and it interferes with the low range selection that way. any way to fix this?
also it needs a waterpump will one from an older 302 work? thanks for the quick responses josh2j11

i think you mean a ratchet shifter and they are cable operated really easy to install but you have to remove the shifter from your collumn if you want it to look decent. did you adjust your shift linkage when you did the body lift? that would be where i would start. there should be a sliding adjuster you just loosen and move down to compensate for the body lift unless you bend or broke something because you didn't loosen it when you put the lift in
no a waterpump from an old 302 will not work

use ebay to find them cheap but they are usually sloppy and almost worn out, my experiance anyway i've bought 3 off ebay
next cheapest would be summit but plan to spend like $180-250 and you'll never get the indicater under the speedo to work unless you pull the column and take out the detent plate behind the stock shifter and leave the linkage hooked up, but if you could do that you wouldnt need a floor shifter
