Yes it sounds crazy but here is my situation...I just picked up another '93 F150 4x4. The E40D is shot and transfer case won't engage but it has a fresh 302 in it. I have an '85 F150 parts truck that has a blown motor and is rusted out but has a new C6 in it. So I want to put the C6 into the '93. I know I'll have to disconnect the front d/s obviously and use the correct d/s for the rear. As far as the ecu goes can I just use one out of a speed density truck that had a factory C6? Will the column shifter still work or should I use a floor mounted ratchet style? I just need this truck to be a parts hauler...i've got another 4wd F150 and a Jeep so giving up the 4wd won't hurt me. Thanks.

i think the collumn would still work with a c6, but you might need to modify the crossmember leaving the transmission plugs laying there not connected shouldn't hurt the performance of the motor as far as i know
