How much difference of seconds on 1/4 mile between the two chips? Just curious. Just because the other is more expensive does it really make a big difference between the two? I've got the new superchips installed but just curious about the diablo..

Can't give solid numbers because there are so many different programs for Diablo Lightning programs. You'll note, however, that the top running Lightning teams are racing with Diablo (and some of the Mustang racers recently switched too!). Diablo is more agreesive and tends to give more horsepower. A conversation with someone at Superchips two months ago went pretty much along these lines: "we don't care about being the best performing, especially since the Microtuner is out." They are more concerned now with a plug and play tuner as strong retail product because the hard core performance enthusiast is considered a smaller segment of the market. Its one of the reasons their custom fees sky-rocketed too, because they don't want to do customs if they can avoid it. The same person told me their custom fees are only likely to go higher in the future, leaving the custom program market for other chip companies and custom tuning specialists.

I think a lot of this is also due to them losing their best programmer to Diablo a few years ago.

And if you roll over when they do that you're getting taken advantage of. Don't believe me? I can tell you about someone with a Harley F-150 who just recently didn't take this kind of illegal crap lying down and won.
