no brakes

I have recently developed some brake trouble. Im not exactly sure where to begin looking for the problem. I cant seem to find any brake fluid on the ground. Can someone assist me with some form of proceedure to try and locate the source of the problem? The pedal almost reaches the floor. There are some brakes left, but very little. The resevoir is bone dry. The underside of my truck is dripping wet due to weather so its really hard for me to distinguish whats water and what may be brake fluid.
Any help would be appreciated

check the brakes booster behind the master cylinder for a leak.

the master cylinder is probably the problem.

Look closely at the backing plates on the rear axle. This will tell you if the rear wheel cylinders are leaking. It's not real common for front calipers to leak, but look closely and see.

Next step is get under the hood and check around master cylinder. Typical to leak out the back where it mounts.

If you live in the rust belt, be prepared to replace the brake lines with new ones. They rust from the outside and from the inside if the fluid hasn't been changed. But do check behind the master cylinder, it's not uncommon for it to leak into the booster. If it did, then you need a new booster and master cylinder.
