1994 explorer 4.0 dies when trans engages

Got a 1994 explorer 4.0, drove it into the shop with a bad engine, done a swap of the engine , put a 1993 4.0 engine in. My 94 was equipped with the cam sensor, the 93 was not. So I took the sensor from a 94 that I purchased from the salvage yard because when I unplugged the sensor the plug part of the sensor fell apart in my hand. I placed it in the 93. I used the upper plentum and wiring from the 94 so I could plug in the cam shaft sensor. I had a time getting the motor and trans together. got it close enough to get the trans bolts in and pulled them together with the bolts. When I put the torque converter in I made sure that it turned and slid in a little furter. I fired the engine off with no problems, it runs really well no miss nothing. Went to pull the rig out of the shop and as soon as the auto transmission engaged the motor died. This one has me stumped. I have double checked all the wiring to make sure that its all in tact. I have restuck the cam sensor 15 or 20 times according to the haynes manual. Today I recieved info from fords manual that told a different way of installing the sensor. I tried there way and the motor still dies when the auto transmission engages. I have checked the codes in the computer and all I got was 327, 335, 558, and I think a 337 code which all relate to the EGR valve. I did not use the cam shaft sync. tool to install the cam shaft. I was very careful when I put it in. Any input would be appreciated. (or if you could tell me how much TNT it will take to cure the problem let me know,,,,,lol )
