Transmission problems?
I start here a new thread because I did not really anywhere with my other thread.
Here's the story.
Had a bad headgasket, pulled the engine out, and changed headgaskets. so far so good.
Put the engine back, and started up for about 10 minutes, the vehicle could not move forward or backward. One from this forum told me that the oilpump was not properly engaged. Pulled the engine out again, pulled the oil pump out of the gearbox, it was destroyed.
I got the repereret of an engineer.Cleaned gearbox for splinters and dirt, made a flush, and put it all together again, the vehicle run.
Had some problems with switching points and it was strange to run. Drove about 150 miles over a few days, and droped the pan, drained the trough converter, put the new filter, flush the radiator and new oil (13.2 L).
I still have some problems.
1: When I start in the morning, pushing it into D, the vehicle starts to move a little and then let go again, rpm goes up, and nothing happens until I release the gas it engage again. It happens 4-6 times before it can move and run. If I put it in 1st or 2nd or R works all fine. I can put it in 1st and run, push it in 2nd and then push it in D, run 200 meters, making full stop and then run again without any problems.
2: When it gets hot and I make a full stop, push the gas to run again,it is as if it starts in 2nd gear for ½ meters (1100 to 1300 rpm) then smash it down in 1st gear and then run, it happens again and again at fullstop (very hard to drive in the city).
3: It has made some vibration when I drive about 50-55 mph. in O / D and run slightly uphill until it changes down a gear. I took the hose from the egr, and the problem seems to be gone now. I have to say I've had a code p0401 for several years and could not find the error until I had taken the throttle of when I had the engine out. it was blocked in the small holes behind the throttle.I removed it and code p0401 is gone. but there is obviously something wrong with either maf or iat senor?
So now I do not know what to do.
I have a code P1000and a KOEO selftest code p3382 that's all.
I made pinpoint test for TRS sensor, VSS and TCC sensor.Looked at all the wires and connectors to the gearbox, measured and so on. Everything looks fine. What should I look for now?
I hope I can make an "in-vehicle repair" I do not want to take the engine out again or gearbox out.
I must say I'm from Denmark and is not quite good at the language. I hope your all understand me.
Currently it is about 10 F. and snowing just afact, maybe it has something to do with the P1000 code?
Any advice? Please help!
Several checks finds no P code 3382 that goes that high.
Are you sure about the code number?
Code 338 would be the front crank sensor if that would be the one.
The code P1000 is not directly a trouble code but only tells you one or more monitors are not test complete.
When all monitors test complete good, the code 1000 will also be cleared along with them.
Your Scanner should be able to tell you which one or ones have not passed diagnostics.
Normally a 'Reader' will only give codes but no monitor information.
The code/s that are set would be the same as the monitor/s system that has not passed it's tests.
.
Going on, I wonder if the DTR is adjusted correctly so the transmission is in D when the selector is in that position.
The reason I ask is you seem to indicate the other gears work ok.
The DTR tells the PCM what you selected for gear action.
In D, it tells the PCM you want it to upshift all gears starting from 1-2-3 then OD so the transmission always starts in 1 unless the DTR for some reason indicates otherwise.
This is the basis for my thoughts on the DTR position possibly being out of adjustment or damaged, as the cause.
.
Next, it sounds like there is one bad coil causing the missfire in Over Drive and light throttle.
Removing the EGR function would have an effect on this kind of trouble.
The dynamics of this kind or missfire gets involved to explain unless you really want to know about it.
.
To review, it looks like you have at least 2 issues maybe 3 if the 401 code is still present.
Sort one out at a time starting with the transmission gear selection issue, then to the missfire in OD, then finish any other issues.
Good luck with it, you done a lot of work.
Let us know how it goes.
It is an F150 4.6 automatic. from 1997 run 176000mil. 4R70W transmission. 4x4
I'm pretty sure that DTR is ok. I've checked that it is adjusted correctly. And I have seen on my scanner live data, and it works correctly when I switch trugh gears and turn on and off o/d. Dosent that mean it's okay? I have a Diagun X431 scan tools.
About the code p3382, I know it should not exist, but it does. There are very few hits on google about this.
I did a KOEO self test and it said: P3382, (25,10,33,82) plese refer to the relevant manual.
I do not know if it has any significance for driving the creators?
I have saw it before.
Once a fault has been cleared the code does not come back.
Within the program there are well over 1000 Pcodes, but not all apply to every vehichle build and option.
Don't know if there is any more I could offer at this point.
Good luck.
