alternator wiring help

I may be asking the same question over again, but bear with me guys.
I'm in the process of rebuilding a 1986 4x4. All the wiring has been ripped out & I now have the task of rewiring. The original truck had a guage package, no idiot lights, with a 4.9 I6.
The truck has an internal regulator on the alt. It's got two connections on the alt. One retangular plug with three wires(two black soldered to one wire, the other looks white w/black stripe); one half round with two wires(one green w/red stripe, the other yellow).
On the retangular connector with the three wires, the two heavy wires are soldered to one wire which goes into some kind of round plastic connector with three wires coming out, one light gauge yellow, one heavy guage yellow wire and one heavy guage black/orange. The heavy guage yellow & light guage yellow go to a round grey connection point. Looks like the connector is gone, only one half is here. The heavy guage black/orange go into another black plastic connector, then keeps going to a fusible link, then comes out as a black with a round eye connector. Where it goes into the black plastic connector, it's joined to the yellow wire that goes back to the half round connector to the alt. There is also a red wire coming out of the black plastic connector going to the grey plug.
I plan on putting a guage package back on(aftermarket, oil press/water temp/voltmeter, in addition to a tach)
Had the alternator check out, its good. Now the fun part.
Help me through this. I assume the black with the eye connector goes to the battery side of the starter relay. The white/black stripe can go to the choke on the carb. The yellow is going to be tied back to the half round connector. The green/red stripe goes to a hot from the key.
Am i close?

I think you got it right. Here's a diagram. You might want to add the light. It's easy to do with a plastic socket, and it warns of other things too, like broken fan belts.
