I'm the proud owner of a new F150. I sorely miss trhe floor console that was in my old S10. I need a console that sitas on the floor (or bolts to the dash) and fills the gap between the seat and the dash. I really just need a place to throw all my junk while travelling. A tray on top would be great with storage underneath. Any suggestions?
I've been searching like crazy on ebay without much success. I am specifically looking for a console that will fit between my front seat and the dash. I have the factory armrest/console already which isn't very good compared to what comes with the captain's chairs. Unfortunately a captains chair upgrade is a little too pricey.
The best thing I have found so far is lower dash console from a new E150 van. I've only seen pictures (such as here http://ebay0.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_f9d7d5031d14f2661f49f835ad3f50e5/i-1.JPG). It would suit my needs perfectly. I only wonder if I can modify it to fit my F150. Any ideas?
yo,
back at last thanks to Ken and others!
That console can be modded w/some plywood. Then cover it in a vinyl or fabric that matches your interior pref.
Good luck!
I haven't seen many that are not for bucket seats, but I would go with AIM - build your own. You can take a piece of cardboard and cut it to amke a pattern of the floor and dash, then cut two sides of plywood or particle board, and design one yourself with cup holders, extra storage, etc. Then cover it with carpet or some other type of material. They are actually not hard to make at all...
I have the Tuffy and will pick up some sq. steel or alum bar hollow bar stock soon to extend the console from the tuffy cup holders forward to the dash underside.
This section is rel. flat (over hump).
I plan on installing more gauges, switches, and a better mount for a fire ext. that will be safe and easily removeable with bolts through the sq stock (using threaded inserts in the hollow stock).
The transfer case lever won't be interferred with in this way.
