productive weekend

Well my to do mods list just shrunk a lttle bit over the weekend! We finally got some warmer weather and I was able to get away from the family a bit so I was able to get my f-650 dash installed with an outside air temp guage in one hole. Also got my transgo kit installed and transmission flushed.....it was needing it badly. I only ended up doing the main valve body mods and installed the calabration plate. From what I have read no one with the 4r100 has had to do anything to the solenoid pack anyhow so I didn't even bother with it. I can certainly tell a differance in the way it shifts but I think I should have went even bigger on the holes....I was just a little gun shy on making them too big. The flush procedure went very well and didn't take near as long as I thought it would. All in all I should have a happy tranny now. Next thing on the list air bags and compressor....it just came to the door yesterday

The Main Valve Body is the big one that comes apart in two pieces. I'm assuming you did the Accumulator Valve Body, which is the one that is swapped with the BTS or JW mod'ed ***'y.

So did you do the Main VB mods, too? And did you get your tunes fixed up to match? When I first did mine, I had stock DP tunes, and the shifts didn't feel all that great. AFTER the re-burn, it was like night & day though! I did go with nearly the biggest holes in the range they suggested. And now with tunes to match, it's definitely like a new truck!!

I didn't do anything to the main valve body....is that a bad thing?
I just have the stock DP tunes right now.....I've been waiting for the freedom to come out, but I may just have to send it in. So it makes a big differance after it's reprogrammed? Maybe it's a good that I didn't drill the holes any bigger!

Yeah, it makes a pretty big difference. I did everything I could to the accumulator and main VBs, but I didn't pull the solenoid pack. I figured since the kit was for such a broad date range of trannys, I had a pretty good chance of it not needed done since mine was an '02 -- plus I was too chicken to pry too hard on it. Mike's didn't need drilled, and his was an '01, so I think I'm safe. LOL...

Try running it in stock mode -- you'll get a pretty good feel for how it'll shift with the new tunes. I can chirp the tires now, though...

OK, where are the pictures? Do you have the manual transfer case selector with the F650 dash lower?

Sorry no pictures! I really need to do better at that I just never think about it till its too late
No manual shifter either....ESOF for me. I really like the way it looks the switches are going to be in easy reach too. Its suppose to rain here tomorrow, so im thinking it will be a good day to pull the truck inside and install the air compressor....which will be switch number one and gauge number two!

Well I got the air compressor and tank mounted today. It took awhile but I had to make a bracket to mount it under the hood. I need to find a pressure gauge and another length of the plastic air line so I can finish it up tomorrow....but that shouldn't take long (famous last words)
I really should get the digital camera out and take some pics tomorrow...then figure out how to post them

You could at least be gracious enough to show us some pictures of the finished product.

You know we love pictures.

Good job Kevin, I drilled the holes small on mine too. I only have 2 tunes on my F6(for now), and they are tuned for the tugger. I'm still thinking about drilling them out more, but I'm not sure. It shifts great, but sometimes I would like it to be a little firmer.
