Talking I'm back!!

Hey guys did ya miss me? We've been without power and phone and water for 8days! We had a massive snow and ice storm here and we're still cleaning up the mess. We still dont have electric to our shop, but at least we do to the houses. So what all did I miss?

Glad you made it out of that mess. We have a warehouse in Brooks Ky and they have all kinds of problems with the Ice Storm last two weeks.

Terry,
Glad to have you back. I thought about you and your family as the news kept talking about Leitchfield, KY. This last September we were without power for 6 days because of a wind storm from Hurricane Ike, but we did'nt have to deal with 0 deg. temps. Hope everything is well.

Hey guys, YES Pegysu is fine, she was in the shop and I dont have any trees around my house or shop. The most of the mess was at my mom and dad's place they have alot of trees and they fell on power lines and cars and such. We're still cleaning it all up and dragging them off of things. They bought a small generator and we did have water towards the end of this mess, but we still didnt have lights or refridgerators. Fortunately it was cold and we put most of our cold stuff on the car port in clothes baskets and had an "outside refridgerator". All the neighbors helped each other out and we cooked on our grilles for each other and it was "ok" as it could be.

We're so glad to be back with power our homeowner's insurance is going to cover all food loss's and tree damage so we're going to be in good shape after all the dust settles.

Glad to hear things are OK! We have an icestorm in the forecast for tomorrow up here. Won't be nearly as bad I don't think, though.

Hey Terry, been wondering about you-all down under, they kept saying you got hit alot harder than we did up here. power out about 40 hours, but have two gas fireplaces so 70 inside, if you don't count the hot air from our kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids plus any one else that wanted to drop in for someplace to stay warm. Hope you guys had heat,,,,,,and don't let your dad get out in this messy weather. I kept busy plowing but of course I slide over a hill into a tree with the Super Duty but I really like the looks of the new S.D. tailgates anyway, just gotta get the new bed to go with it. tell Vicky we said Hi, Later dude.

Hey man, we did have heat, we had one of them small gas stoves inside that is ventless. It did fine, but we were bored out of our minds. I hooked up a portable DVD player to a car battery and we kept ourselves entertained for a long time til mom and dad bought a generator. After they did that we had water and ran an extension cord up here to run our TV. (it was so long it kind of looked like the guitar cord from the video "the old man down the road from John Fogerty" but the TV dont pull much so we had a little entertainment)

Vicky says HI back. Hows your grandkids and such? Dad is FINE!!! We got power in his shop today and will be working tomorrow
