Just installed this backup camera... It worked out very nice an was easy to install.
Its a wireless backup camera made by PEAK I paid $65 for it.
Now I can backup on to my hitch with out ever getting out of my truck the FIRST time. Clean Install... I used existing holes in the rear jack hatch and attached the wires to my back up lights... thats it pretty simple!!! Check it out!!!!
Wife got me one for Christmas with a 7 inch monitor from Peak. Had a hard time locating the monitor because of its size. Attached it to the front of the console. Definately easy to install, only two wires to hook up. Hooked mine up to parking lights.
You can get them at Kragen... thats where I got mine. Im sure other auto parts stores have them though.. Just call around. Nice to hear from you again VaSheriff!!!!
Thanks! But let me assure you there's a few people on a number of other forums that would love it if I stayed here all the time. They just don't appreciate the infinite wisdom of the ole VaSheriff!
The signal is sketchy at times (but clear as a bell at other times) as I'm near the limit of the wireless range. If you get too much stuff in the back of her, it's really bad. Plus the screen 'lights' up when it receives another wireless signal (quite often) going down the road. If I had it to do again, I would get a non wireless unit.
We LOVE our backup camera. It makes hooking up the trailer a snap. We just added a video switcher and aded a camera on the back of the travel trailer. Now when the trailer is attached it sources to the trailer camera so I can see what is behind it. I can switch back and fourth to check on the hitch as well. Anyway, you will love the camera, even in parking lots and parallel parking.
