In January I unbolted the previous-owner-built rear bumper from the '59 Merc, both rear fenders, and pulled off the rotten plywood that covered the even more rotten original bed. The fenders are mainly straight, but the lower couple inches will need patches.

in january i pulled the 302 out of my truck to rebuild. now its sitting in my garage in a million peices and im tryin to figure out how to rebuild it (i hope i labled everything good enuf). in the meentime i put a 302 in my truck that i got for 150 bucks, burns a crapload of oil but it will do till im done with my rebuild.

Question

need some info folks...how do ya seperate the rear drive shaft to replace the carrier bearing????

Ya got me. I searched but couldn't find anything. Might be something to know cause I have a 2 piece as well. All I could find is that the bearing is pressed onto the shaft, so maybe some sort of joint there. Sorry I know that's not much help.
