i would fix the truck you have
body isnt a necessity as long as its still there in my eyes.
exhaust shouldnt be hard or expensive.
being a 350 it has the well liked dana 60 parts are easy to get and shouldnt really be that much.
why buy the other truck and end up putting money in it?
id stick with this truck and fix it up if it was me

These issues you speak of are rather easy to replace on the cheap if you do everything itself. As you already answered your question, it's better to stick with the truck you have as you know what it needs. Plus, it's already titled, registered, insured...?

Exhuast - easiest. Do it yourself or send to a muffler shop.

Body - bondo or buy rust-free body parts (if you think that would be worth it).

King pins - new ones & a BFH.

A '91 F350 is as heavy as you can get without going up to heavy-duty commerical trucks. It will plow without trouble.

KEEP IT!!!!! These older trucks are just as tough, if not tougher than some of the new ones, and if they do break down, parts & labor are ALWAYS cheaper than doing the same thing on a new truck.

If you don't have emmisions inspections in your area, forget the cat. A '91 won't have any sensors behind it, you won't have any problems.

She's not going dpwn hill, she has character. She's a keeper. After you fix her, try to be diligent about chasing those pesky little problems before they become an issue in the future. My two pennies worth. It's what's kept my old '88 runnin' smooth and lookin' good.

Depends on your area. In urban areas, it may be around $3-500 for a stock setup. For country shops, it may be $200-400 and they'll ask you if you want duals or stacks...

Check the truck's original specs. It's very possible a '91 never came with cats from factory. I know my old '89 E350 didn't.

you can just dump the exhaust after the cab if it's just a plow truck or run it out infront of the back wheels for dirt cheap i think i did mine like that temporary for $30 including the muffler with napa exhaust parts.

Cats depend on where you live. If you have emission testing, than yes you need a cat on it. Other wise, no you dont. The truck does not need a cat on it to run properly. As far as prices go, i spent 400 here in WI getting true dual 45* out the back. Thats with LT headers, and i supplied my own mufflers. Got the nice shiney 4" tips though!!!
