Question correct size radiator?

I have no doubt that the radiator will fit into the spot that the old radiator will fit. However, what I don't know is if the thing will do strong enough to do the job. The guy at the radiator shop suggested this one, but when I went to buy it, said that he doesn't guarantee that it will be the right size since it is a custom job (which I think is just him covering his @ss if it doesn't). But the radiator is for a V8, 4.7L, 289ci engine. He said it was a performance engine out of a '65-'67 (I could be wrong on those years, but I know I'm close) Mustang. It is a 3 row radiator instead of the two row. Do you guys think that it'll be enough to keep everything cool?

Well providing that it will fit and the truck you're using it in is the one listed in your whatever the thing above is called 50 F-1 w/302 it is more than adequate enough to cool that engine trans combo. It was adequate enough for a 289 in a Mustang which is basically the same block as a 302 so it should work just fine.

I always forget to mention the minute details (which turn out to be very important ones). Yes it will be with the 302. It's a crate engine built up to push 330 hp. It will definitely fit in the stock spot. I'll actually have to fabricate something to hold it in place as it is actually smaller than the original F1's radiator.

The radiator from a mid 70s Dodge P/U is as close to a bolt-in as you will find for these trucks. It can be had with 2 to 4 rows depending on engine size.

I am using a 68 stang radiator in my 52 panel. Mine is a two row now for mock up but will replace with a 3 row later when I do the bodywork. I believe the 3 row was used on stangs with a/c. Try to plan on adding a fan shroud. In terms of keeping the engine cool I think you will be fine.

Also I don't know when the change was made but the early stang radiators were small, I think you will want the size I have not sure if 67 had this larger size or not but one from a 65 will be the small one. I don't know anything about the radiator size on the hi-perf 289 stangs.

Any good pics of this dodge rad in an F1? I am getting ready to set my 351W between the rails of my 51 F1 and will be needing a rad to handle 450+hp out of this motor. I will be using elect fans with full shrouding.
Thanks
