Need help please
Ok here is the problem.
99 Expedition
When I start the truck I am getting am audible alarm. You know the annoying chime that goes off if you leave your lights on or keys in the ign.
It goes like this. group of 5 chimes, 5 times, and then it does it again every 20 im driving. Its driving me NUTS.
please help.

In this thread they are having chime problems, and it seems to be the keyswitch area. Try wiggling or bumping the key and see if it quits. Here's the thread.

Thanks, I just read through that and they are all having strange irregular things happen.
Mine is the exact same everytime. Its been going on for months. 5 sec after the key goes the on pos. 5 chimes 5 times. the again every 20 min.
Im going to find that damn dinger and rip it out if I have to.

I found this but my airbag light is working.
Five Chimes then pause and again for 5 more intervals -
It's the Air bag Light IN THE DASH - It is burned out - REPLACE the dash lightbulb for the airbag light and the chiming sound will go away....

I don't have any codes. I won't take it to the dealer just so they can look atvit all damn day for 80 an hour and tell they don't know. Screw that. That dinger is going to get found and shut down before that happens. Thanks guys

You said that the air bag light is working. Which light is working? There are two air bag lights. The one in the instrument cluster out will cause the 5/5 chime that you have. The other one is for the passenger air bag shut off switch and it being out will give a 2/7 chime. Good luck!

I have an expedition. No passenger cut out switch. The one in the dash is working. Im at a lose
today I going to replace every light on the cluster just to make sure Im not missing something small.

Thank you everyone who tried to help me on this. There is something very strange going on with that system on my truck. I replaced every light in the cluster. Looks great so i am glad I did it. Bit it didn't fix anything.
I removed the beeper in the ECU, haven't noticed any ill effects from doing so, So as far as i am concerned its case closed.
