Starting problems

When cold or warm, my truck will start only by releasing the key as soon as the engine begins to fire. When it's hot it acts like a flooded engine and has to sit for atleast fifteen minutes before it will start. I've searched and found two possibilities: ruptured fuel pressure regulator diaphram or weak ignition module. The engine runs rich all of the time, so I'm leaning toward fuel pressure regulator. But it runs great once it's started. What say you?

Thanks. It turns over fine with the ignition turned to "start", but the engine won't catch until I release the switch. Acts like it's getting too much fuel or too little spark. Battery is good.
