Here is a Brain picker for you guys...I need a Power Brake Booster for my 73 F-250 4x4 (Converted to Disc with 76 Front Axle and 76 Master Cylinder and Proportioning Valve)...at one point about 7 years ago I put a 77 F-250 2wd Body on a 74 F-250 4x4 Highboy Frame and put the Drum Master Cylinder on the 2wd Disc Booster and it worked just fine....I'm just curious if any of you have a specfic Booster that would work the best for the 73 w/76 disc front. I am pretty sure they are somewhat interchangeable...and i am aware of the lower pedal height on the later years...Opinions??? Best Ideas you have?? What has worked the best?? And I don't want to do the Hydroboost on this one....Maybe my 78 Build I will...LOL.....Awaiting your replies!!!
How about just upgrading to an F-350 brake system. Use the article in the tech section of this site as a guideline. You don't have to change the rear to disc, just run the larger bore F-350 wheel cylinders along with the Thunderbird calipers and the F-350 booster and master cylinder. There is a recent post in the "Bronco" forum on this site relating to this mod. I think you would love it coming down Prove canyon or North Ogden pass.
It's an F-250 4x4 Highboy...So i am running the dual piston calipers up front already....Will it make any difference if I just run the F-350 Booster and if neccesary the master for now and do the rear wheel cylinders later?? Is it the 2wd F-350 booster I am assuming??? I had acutually planned on doing that upgrade at some point anyway...backing plates, wheel cylinders and wider shoes and drums as well from a 2wd F-350.
