I am trying to remove the wire connector pins from the truck wiring harness socket on my 71 F-100 4x4 turn signal switch.I have seen the tools for sale that removes the pin ends out of the socket but can't remember where I saw them.Does anyone here know where I can find one or what size remover to buy? Thanks for any information.

I used a ball point pen tube to do mine took a few apart because there are different diameters found one that fit best and it worked great and is free.
Thanks for all the ideas everyone.I will try some to pull the pins myself with a sharp tool on my parts truck to see if I can get it that way.Worse comes to worse I will get to the parts store and buy one. Thanks again.

Many times if you use a screwdriver or a pick, you ruin the little catch/tab that locks in the pin when you put it back into the plastic housing. The tool is "NOT" a waste of money, although any small, sturdy tube with the inside diameter the same as the outside diameter of the pin should work fine. Also, new pins are available at most electronics stores. If you plan on re-using the same switch, do yourself a favor, and make a diagram of the plug and wire colors. If using a replacement switch, the colors often do not match the one you removed. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

It sounded like he was trying to put in a new turn signal switch. If so then he's trying to remove the pins from the old one which is shot. That means that buying the tool is a waste of money. He's only gonna throw the pins in the trash so who cares if he ruins them.
Just make sure that when you put the new pins into the socket, you are putting them in from the back. I was holding my socket backwards when I installed the wires. Then I had to really be careful with the screwdriver removing the new pins. It wasn't a problem. Just take your time and don't rush.
