I pulled the codes...
P1393
P1391
This is what I found out about them...
DTC P1391 or P1393 will set when the monitor indicates that all four glow plugs are not being powered on that bank. An open in the glow plug circuits, glow plug relay, glow plugs or monitoring circuit could be the possible causes.
Both DTCs P1391 and P1393 together will set when the monitor indicates that all eight glow plugs are not being powered. An open in all glow plug circuits, the glow plug relay, glow plugs, fusible links or all three monitoring circuits could be the possible causes.
Possible causes:
glow plug relay
glow plug shunt
open in glow plug circuit(s) or monitoring circuit(s)
glow plugs
PCM

I suppose the the relay is the easiest to check, You will need a little help to turn the key on while you check both "Big" posts for power then you will need to do the same for the small posts. I used to have a schematic but it seems to be in the wind. If the relay checks out then move to the UCWH checking the top plugs for burning and in some instances missing. if the top plugs are all good then you can check the glow plugs through the gaskets but if it were me I would pull the covers just so all of that wiring and plugs can be checked as well. With the covers off you have the opportunity to check GP wiring as will as the Injector wiring all going to the plugs. You can also check the GP's for resistance .5 I think. If you find a bad one or two I would replace all eight (8) Rog

Does it start up OK when cold?
Those may be stored codes that were not cleared after a previous repair.
BTW: You have a cali-emissions engine. IIRC the fed-49 states-emission engines don't monitor the GP's. Somebody???

Thanks again Rick, you're covering my butt this week huh? I can't seem to find anything now with the new software FTE put in place.
Hope they get it fixed soon, I can't get to any of my attachments (pictures). There gone....pooof!

Thank you guys... The truck will not start unless plugged in, so the starting issue was confirmed with these codes. I'll start at the relay and take a look.

The GPR is the same AFAIK. Just don't let them sell you a starter solenoid...it won't last very long.
