Need help finding black bumpers
I am looking for Black front and rear bumpers for my '05 XLT S/C. I have seen the black factory bumpers on some STX's, and FX4's, but am having trouble finding part numbers for my truck because it did not come from factory with black as I was told from my "fantastic" dealership. If anyone out there has the factory black bumpers, could you please tell me the year and style model of your truck so I can get the part number to order by. I assume the mounting should be the same, but I could be wrong. I have two tow hooks up front, but would be willing to put the lights in as well from what I have seen.

the bumpers are all the same for the most part. you just need to get your paint code from your door jamb and reference that when you are looking for bumpers.
the only difference will be if you have the stepside bed, it has a different bumper from the normal bed
the black PTM bumpers have been offered from 04-08 in the FX4, 07+ in the FX2.
You need a 04/05 front bumper only though. the rears are interchangeable on any year model. in 2006 the front bumper mounts changed (and foglights). it's relatively easy to swap in a 06+ bumper though. You can buy all the brackets on eBay for under $40 or so.

Thanks for the info., thats exactly what I needed to know. I am going to get some prices on bumpers, and having mine sprayed or powder coated to see the difference in cost as to buying new ones. I haven't crawled under and looked yet, But how does the plastic rear bumper step cover come off or is it glued on?
