I have an '05 150 and I am looking at either getting my front and rear bumpers powdercoated black or switching to a factory painted bumper. I have seen the STX and FX4 series trucks with bumpers colored to match the paint. Will any year and model bumper fit my truck? If not what truck do I have to order that bumper for to fit mine. A couple of the parts guys could not help me, Because they only can tell me whats in the computer.
Well in 06 is when they changed the fog lights to the round instead of the rectangle ones you have but other then that they should be the same. I don't think I would go higher then an 06 because I think something else was changed on the 07's.
My bumpers don't match the truck but they match the trim color I have on the lower part which looks really nice. Anyway good luck but it would most likely be easier and cheaper to get yours powder coated.
You're probably better off powercoating, or since you have a black truck, getting them Line-X'ed or sprayed by another company. Spraying them might be the quickest and most cost effective.
I do love the mono-toned look of some of the FX4s (maybe because mine is ) but all of the FX4 bumpers will be wired for fogs, so you'd either choose to not wire them up, or retro fit your truck for fogs.
If I were spending your money...I'd have them sprayed.
i like the road armor but holy crap!!!!! $1800 front and $1200 rear + S+H
They'll likely outlast your truck, and you.
Personally, I like the Buck Stop products. Mainly for the look. Kind of a mix of old school and new school, whereas the Road Armor is very "new school" to me
Look closer at the two products and you will see that you can have them both done close to the same design. They are almost the same anyway. The buckstop does show more options and combination but I am willing to bet you could have the road armor do the same.
i did not see until now that the buck stop came without the brush guard and it is better without the guard than the road armor but the rear bumper for the road armor with the clevis pins is damn nice.
