contour cd4e tranny leak
hi all, my dads 96 contour has started spewing tranny fluid from somewhere, i took it to the carwash and washed off the underside and when i got it back to the shop and got it up into the air, it was wet aroundthe bottom of the so called oil pan, and what appears to be an accumulator. i was wondering if anybody knew if either had a known problem before i tear into it further?

Sounds like the accumulator cover's snap ring came out allowing the cover to get lost and dumping the fluid.
The only "oil pan" on a CD4E is the one that covers the valve body and faces forward (not downward).
