Oil filter

So I'm going to change my oil this week so was in town trying to see which brands of filters I can get.

It seems I have two choices either a fram or a wix with the attached cap. Not really a fan of the fram. Anyone have an opinion on the wix. Comparing the two the wix seems to have almost twice as many pleats as the fram. The wix is about 26 bucks here.

DO NOT USE THE WIX! The Fram is a repackaged Motorcraft filter. I would use it over the Wix filter

Is it really. I never would have guessed. If that is the case I'll use it. I can get one of them for less than half of the wix.

If you have a motorcraft to compare it to i would feel better about it. Every time i have gone to walmart to get my filter, i always check to see and they have always been the same.

I too in normal circumstances wouldnt put a FRAM on my lawn mower, but in this case UGA33 is correct, its the SAME EXACT filter that you would get if you went to the dealer and bought a ford one. Both made by Racor.

Thanks. Like I said before I never would have guessed it was a superior filter.

OK I was wrong the fram isn't cheaper than the wix. The fram is somewhere between 26 and 27 bucks. The list price is like 42.

One more question is does anyone have any input on Chevron delo syn oil. I am looking to run some with my newly purchased filter. Weight is 5W-40.

That's the same for my Wally World, too, but Zip's in Canada so everything costs more.

Tell me about it. I did end up getting the filter for just over $22.00. Last time I checked it was a couple bucks less than the nearest Wally World.

The Chevron Delo syn is going to cost me $27.99 + tax per gal.

Why don't you hold off for awile for Pep Boys to have another sale on Fram CH 9549 filters. 2 filters for $7.50 I got 100,000 miles worth the last 2 sales.
