Thumbs down $607 intake spider

Just called ford about a spider for my intercooler and said it was 607! I was shocked. I've heard of guys getting for 150-200 from the dealer. I guess i'm gona go with banks or try and find someone with on. Are there any cheaper off brand repros out there?

I got an early 99 spyder sitting on the bench. I'd probably see it for less than $600... lol.

That price is terrible.

I think one of our sponsors carries them. Try dieselsite or FTEpartsguy not really sure but that is robbery.

The Banks spider is about $300 by itself, spendy but I'd still recommend it if you can't find a decent price on a Ford spider. Nice thing about the Banks parts are they reuse the stock boots and clamps on the connections to the turbo and heads. With the Ford spider you need different boots and clamps which are another expense to account for. They also have a bung in the hot side for your MAP line and fit well around the fuel canister, dipstick, and oil fill cap. There have been some good deals lately on Banks kits minus the IC.

Do you mean for the early 99 spyder? if so you need a pair of reduction boots 2" x 2 3/8" (from the dealer ), but you can use also 2" x 2 1/2" without a problem, and they are cheaper they are to connect the spyder to the plennums.

Where did you find banks parts sold by the piece or a kit without the cooler? I looked on ebay and the banks site, but maybe I was searching for the wrong thing.

If you call Banks they will sell the individual parts, but as I stated before, they are very expensive. When I was gathering my IC parts, the early 99 spider was not available new and used ones were going for $200+ on ebay so. You will need two parts from Banks, the Twin-Ram (pn 41312) and the Compressor Outlet Elbow (pn 41300). These two parts were about $300. If you need pipes and boots too those full kits minus the IC would be the way to go.
